Our Waco getaways are named for, and inspired by, our beloved Poppy — an Oklahoma cowman, a writer, farmer, college professor, and a mighty fine dancer. His spirit of warmth, wit, and storytelling lives on in each space, with many of his poems gracing the walls of our homes. This thoughtfully designed retreat blends comfort, style, and hospitality, creating a warm space to relax, recharge, and explore. Poppy & Rye has proudly maintained a 5-star rating since 2019, and ranks in the top 5% of homes on Airbnb — a reflection of our personal commitment to each and every guest experience. We’re not out-of-state investors; we live nearby, love Texas, and are hands-on hosts who care deeply about the details. Speaking of details — meet Rye, a proud Baylor grad (Sic ’em!), grandson of “Poppy” and skilled craftsman. Rye worked his way through college at Harp Design Co., Chip and Jo’s go-to woodworking shop, and discovered a passion for woodworking along the way. Many of the pieces in our homes are handcrafted by Rye himself, bringing warmth, story, and artistry to every space. Come stay with us and experience Waco the Poppy & Rye way.

Our little bungalow is about a block away from Waco Drive, so you may experience some ambient road noise. If you’re a sensitive noise person, we’ve got noise machines and ear plugs on hand.
